Nestled on a lake lot, this charming bunkie renovation is the epitome of an ideal retreat for overnight guests. The transformation was nothing short of comprehensive – we gutted the guest house, bidding farewell to the old front window, interior paneling, insulation, door, and electrical components. We then moved the dropped beam up to the peak of the roof, ushering in a new era of openness. Replacing the outdated window with two sliding windows, which introduced new airflow and the soothing sounds of the nearby lake. The interior received a makeover with fresh insulation, vapor barrier, and drywall work. Adding a touch of rustic elegance, a live edge coffee bar was introduced, leaving the final touches to the client's choice of light fixture and furnishings. The result? A cozy home away from home, ready to embrace guests in comfort and style.
When our client approached us for a basement renovation in their older home, we saw an opportunity for significant upgrades. Upon a thorough demolition, we uncovered underlying issues with lack of insulation and vapour barrier. By eliminating an outdated tiki bar, properly sealing the basement walls, and implementing top-notch materials and insulation, we transformed the space. The new finishes included drywall walls and painting, along with new doors and baseboard. To create a seamless transition from upstairs to downstairs, the client opted for hardwood flooring paired with a drop ceiling and pot lights. This not only enhanced energy efficiency but also left the client delighted with the newfound space. A single upgrade transformed not just one area but elevated the entire house!
This memorable project was a journey marked by many surprises. We began with a site visit to discuss options for a backyard deck and fence focused on ensuring the safety of their child. As the demolition of the original "handyman special" deck commenced, we unearthed unexpected items – from old business display signs to repurposed survey stakes. Surprises continued with discoveries of concrete where it shouldn't be, both in the deck and fence structures. Once the demolition dust settled, construction began, prioritizing the fence for quick closure of the yard. The addition of an oversized gate and a designated nook for waste bins streamlined alley access. Next in line was the new composite deck, strategically positioned for seamless outdoor living. Extending beyond the original size with a wide staircase and maximized space utilization, we created a more a useable and safe space. Because this deck was elevated four feet above the ground, we opted for lockable storage underneath. The deck is bordered with custom privacy walls with sleek black aluminum handrail for a more modern appearance. This transformative 180-degree makeover has secured its place among our top 5 favorite projects, a testament to the unexpected joys of construction.
Following the successful completion of a two-tier deck for our client, we then transitioned to transforming their basement. With growing grandchildren in need of a play area, collaborative site visits led to a design that resonated with the clients. The result: a well-thought-out layout featuring a dedicated exercise space, a versatile main living area, a private office that doubles as a bedroom, and a fully equipped washroom with a shower and bathtub. Illuminated by 4000K daylight pot lights, the space is ready to accentuate the clients beautiful artwork, making it truly multifunctional and appealing to all.

The original deck, weathered and worn, gave way to a sleek new composite deck complete with modern aluminum handrails. This project was a sheer delight, made even more enjoyable by our pint-sized supervisor, the client's young one, ensuring our construction kept his curiosity entertained .
